About me

After retiring from a career in finance I was able to indulge my interest in Ancient Egypt by studying Egyptology at the University of London where I was awarded an MA in 2012.
I now lecture on the history, people and culture of Ancient Egypt as well as the ancient civilisations of Rome, Greece, Mexico and Australia. I also have an interest in the Myths & Legends of the Ancient World, and I am a keen Maritime Historian specialising in piracy in the Caribbean and the South Seas.

I am proud to be an accredited lecturer for The Arts Society and a Guest Speaker on cruise ships, with contracts for the Silversea, P&O, Celebrity, Saga and Fred Olsen fleets .

I am the published author of two books: What Did the Poor Take With Them? is an academic treatise on Ancient Egyptian grave goods.

“Understanding Ancient Egypt” is a more accessible introduction to the subject, suitable for anyone with a general  interest in this ancient civilisation.
